1. Who we are
Patient Diary (“we”) runs the Patient Diary app and its website patientdiary.app. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you control it.
2. Data we collect
- Account data: name, email, password (stored hashed), language and time zone.
- Patient data you enter: name, relationship, date of birth and sex (both optional), medicines, doses, times and notes.
- Dose history: what was taken, snoozed, skipped or missed, and who recorded it and when.
- Device data: device type, system and app version, and the notification token.
- Support data: what you send us when you contact us.
We don’t collect your location or contacts, and we don’t use advertising or marketing trackers.
3. How we use it
- To send dose reminders and work out adherence.
- To let you share profiles with the people you invite.
- To keep your account secure and prevent misuse.
- To provide support and improve the service.
We don’t sell your data or use it for advertising.
4. Sharing with others
A patient profile’s data is seen only by its owner and the people they invited, according to the role they chose. We use service providers to run the app (hosting, email, notifications through Apple and Google) under agreements that protect your data. We may disclose data when the law requires it.
5. Storage and security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and free-text notes are encrypted again. Our support team reaches data with limited permissions, and every access is logged. The servers are hosted in <European Union (Frankfurt)>.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. When you ask for deletion, the account and the patient profiles you own are deleted permanently after 30 days, and you can undo it within that time by signing in. We keep security logs for two years.
7. Your rights
- See and correct your data in the app.
- Ask for a copy of your data.
- Delete your account in the app or on the delete-account page.
- Turn off notifications at any time in your phone’s settings.
We comply with Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020.
8. Children
Accounts are created by adults. An adult can add a profile for a child in their care and is responsible for its data.
9. Changes
We’ll tell you in the app or by email before any material change to this policy.
